Are you experienced in working in the interactive digital media sector, including the development, production, funding or marketing of video games, mobile apps, e-learning products, webseries, websites or augmented/virtual reality products?

 

Are you knowledgeable about business and financial practices and able to assist stakeholders in determining if they are eligible for tax credits and other financing programs for interactive digital media products?

 

If so, consider this exciting opportunity with Ontario Media Development Corporation, an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, where you will have a direct impact on the financing of media development in Ontario!

 

What can I expect to do in this role?

 

In this role, you will:

• Review and analyze applications for tax credits and financing programs;
• Prepare documentation and recommendations around project and expenditure eligibility;
• Analyze budgets and review corporate financial information, financing, distribution and legal documentation;
• Respond to client inquiries and participate in key department activities and projects.

 

Location: Toronto

 

How do I qualify?

 

Technical Expertise
• You have proven knowledge of the interactive digital media sector
• You have demonstrated knowledge of business and financial practices, including borrowing, accounting, public and private financing sources in Canada
• You have knowledge of financing and tax credit programs, and related regulations and legislation (e.g., Taxation Act 2007, Income Tax Act)

 

Problem Solving, Analytical, Research and Organizational Skills
• You can review, analyze and monitor applicant projects, expenditures and reports
• You can manage conflicting priorities and deadlines, and ensure work is delivered in a timely and effective manner
• You have excellent problem solving and organizational skills

 

Communication, Interpersonal and Presentation Skills
• You can provide information and advice, explain regulations, legislation and policies, and discuss issues and concerns regarding applications
• You can prepare and present recommendations to the Director, and represent the department to industry groups
• You can prepare a wide range of materials, including reports, application forms, program guidelines and information sheets, and coordinate workshops and seminars
• You have strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

Computer Skills
• You can use various office software packages and databases (e.g., Word, Excel and Access)

 

Salary Range: $1,251.23 - $1,567.09 per week
