The VFX Editor collaborates with the VFX Producers, Supervisors, and Artists to support the needs of a given show. The VFX Editor is responsible for processing all deliverables and reference material into organized timelines by sequence and show for reviews and delivery. In addition, they must over cut all material to verify frame count of deliverables against count sheets.
Pulls plates and elements from dailies and media
Converts and renames to appropriate project format
Processes turnover and edits and updates the databases
Imports and checks new versions of vfx shots
Provides reference to artists (line up, retiming, resizing, etc.)
Manages media and storage
Maintains editorial info in databases
Creates selects for additional media requests (ie. Promos, element shoots, etc.)
Liaises with Post, Editorial, and LA teams
Prepares client deliverables
Creates show reels and project reels
Minimum 2 years VFX editing experience on Television and/or feature films production
Professional experience and demonstrable proficiency in editing
Strong understanding of the VFX process and terminology
A working knowledge of digital formats, files, frame rates, resolutions, colourspace, and codecs
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to establish new work processes and methods with a creative approach to problem solving.
Excel in a team environment with a strong communication skill
Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position for the majority of a shift (up to 90%)
Must be able to use hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office machinery
Will be working in a low-lit environment and may be subject to eye strain.
