Video Journalist Job Summary:

Station 14 is looking for a Full-time Video Journalist to work for our company in Kingston, Ontario.
 
Responsibilities: 
Perform all duties required in the role of Video Journalist, Camera Operator, Editor and Producer.
Schedule daily reports and produce news and informational videos.
Conduct live on-air presentations and interviews.
Shoot video for on-location and in-studio productions.
Edit video for the web.
Oversee the development and progress of projects
Act as producer of specific projects in the field and in post-production.
Attend company meetings
Assist in developing ideas and concepts for current and future projects
Assist in the creation of new products
Interact with clients and develop professional relationships
Represent the company and assist in marketing and promotion
 
Academic/Educational Requirements:
Degree or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in the areas of Journalism, Media, Broadcasting or other related fields.
 
Required Skills/Experience:
Can work under tight deadlines and get the work done on time
Talk and present on-camera both pre-recorded and live
Must have a passion for news & video production
Efficient and fast editing skills & camera shooting capabilities
Extensive knowledge of Adobe CS products, Premiere Pro and Photoshop
Great communication and people skills and can easily work with clients and other team members
Valid Ontario Driver’s License
Knowledge of basic computer programs and Google Apps including Gmail, Docs & Sheets
Respectful and considerate
Time Management Skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
1-5 years of experience. Minimum 1 year experience in the industry
