SHOP MANAGER AND ADMINISTRATOR

Job Summary

Shop Manager for a modest, boutique, indie friendly camera and lighting rental company in a fun neighbourhood. The Shop Manager deals with customers during the entire rental process. The SM provides quotes, manages equipment and provides prep assistance.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare orders, issue quotes, source equipment as necessary
  • Manage documentation accurately and comprehensively
  • Maintain continued knowledge of work order status
  • Address customer complaints
  • Offer friendly, prompt and informed customer service, maintaining relationships with production companies
  • Schedule customer prep time, and the check out and in of equipment rentals
  • Helping clients for when technical issues occur
  • Quality testing equipment to make sure that it’s in proper working order before and after each rental
  • Identifying broken equipment and sending in for repair
  • Posting monthly rental deals to social media

Qualifications and Skills

Any combination of education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Must be able to provide quality Customer Care
  • Minimum 1 years of experience working in the film industry or at an equipment rental house
  • Technical savvy with a moderate knowledge of DSLR / Cinema/ Video gear/Lighting gear
  • Problem solving, trouble shooting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office and database systems
  • Knowledge of equipment inventories
