On Premise Specialist – Heineken Canada (Toronto)

Position Summary

Representing a global premium import beer brand, the On Premise Specialist will focus on activities that will drive forward the brand’s equity and awareness in a targeted region. Reporting to the National Business Development Manager and working alongside the Regional Field Marketing Manager, the On Premise Specialist will offer a unique selling proposition for Heineken, targeting on-premise accounts focused in key neighbourhoods in the urban core. As an expert in developing customer solutions, the On Premise Specialist oversees their accounts with the commitment of flawless program and brand execution. The On Premise Specialist will develop strong relationships with their customers, deliver expertise in the beer category, and provide insight on new market trends.

  • Lead sell-in and installation of new product innovations
  • Be a product expert and provide in-field support to key sales reps in identifying opportunities and acquiring new image accounts
  • Provide training and continuous coaching on serving standards and brand credentials with on premise account staff
  • Develop strategies to build & develop customer relationships with a focus on influential accounts in order to increase visibility, product demand and to drive brand equity
  • Facilitate beer training sessions with customers and staff at all levels to drive beer confidence and culture
  • Responsible for presentation of consumer and market insights to provide sales support; includes craft and total industry trends
  • Accountable for execution against and measurement of distribution, visibility, and promotional targets
  • Maintain and track the regional budget
  • Complete and submit measurement and evaluation report on all executed activities and programs
  • Maintain and submit a monthly brand activity report specifically relating to assigned KPIs
  • Identify, secure and assist in the execution of key sponsorships to drive brand visibility

Professional Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of sales or marketing experience
  • Experience in the alcohol beverage market, craft beer market or in hospitality/food and beverage are all considered strong assets
  • Post-secondary education in a relatable field
  • Be “in the know” with the respective scene and possess strong social skills and networks
  • Must be a self-starter – possess the ability to work independently and take decisive ownership
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills with outstanding time management and multi-tasking capabilities
  • High energy team player with a proven track record of successful relationship building
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environment
  • Innate ability to grasp and interpret brand strategies in order to create tools and tactics for successful in-field execution
  • Capable of building effective internal and external relationships with key stakeholders

Additional Details

  • Flexible schedule (some nights and weekends)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
