Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional Motion Graphics Designer to join our growing team at ICON Media. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the successful candidate will create high quality visuals and provide design and production support to the Creative Department. We are looking for someone who is ready to tackle design challenges and to help us develop and promote our brand using the latest in design tactics. The Graphic Designer will be required to create compelling new concepts as well as work within existing templates with a high degree of accuracy to produce a wide variety of materials that reflect brand standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, and subject to change upon review:

  • Conceptualize, plan and design a variety of marketing and sales support materials including but not limited to email marketing, social media, motion graphics, traditional print media, flyers and catalogues, event collateral and graphic support
  • Provide creative and innovative design solutions using both written and visual elements in support of marketing campaigns
  • Ability to produce print-ready production artwork to specifications provided (including prepping and shipping files for external printing)
  • Liaise with print product suppliers as required
  • Continually build a knowledge base of current trends and best in-class tactics
  • Keep abreast of competitor and industry-leading creative
  • Adapt content for use across a variety of web/print needs
  • Produce simple motion graphics animations for interactive and web use
  • Complete assigned tasks throughout all stages of the design and production process in a timely manner
  • Work collaboratively on ideas
  • Present ideas (written, verbally and visually) to peers and management
  • Own, manage and deliver on specific elements of projects and deadlines
  • Work in close collaboration with, project managers and senior creative team

How to Win this Job:

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a diversity of experience and strong creative-level thinking. It should cover the breadth of your design process, from ideation through to the final design, and clearly state your individual contribution to the project/product;
  • Be the best communicator: Relaying information and ideas effectively both within and across different teams is essential. While we place a huge premium on creative skill, we vet just as hard on your ability to work with other people;
  • Equal passion and aptitude for contributing at the strategic level as well as the hands-on, detailed level;
  • Strong graphic/visual design capabilities including typography, sketching, composition, layout, color, iconography, and the presentation of information;
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design practices. Curiosity and a desire to understand the end user is a must;
  • Strong, demonstrated proficiency in a variety of design tools such as, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects ; and
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, team environment

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a designer in multimedia composition & production and design; and
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign).
