Associate Editor
POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Associate Editor is to help in the writing, fact-checking, proof-reading, and running of the magazine and other editorial channels, to ensure all are produced on schedule and maintain the highest quality. In addition, they must assist in maintaining a positive relationship with the client, and contribute to both the style and content of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Write copy—magazine stories and display, email newsletters and web stories etc.—as required. Set up and maintain support systems to ensure the smooth running of the magazine and any other projects that come up from client
· Liaise with the team to ensure administrative tasks are streamlined and efficient
· To liaise with the deleted Art Director and Editor on a day-to-day basis
· Handle special projects as assigned
· Perform editing and proofreading tasks as directed
· Maintain project files
· Send out copies of magazine to contributors
· Gather invoices and commissioning forms for processing and submission to Finance/Accounting
· Compile invoices and expenses into spreadsheets. Update costing spreadsheets
· Maintain Contributors contact information
EXPERIENCE
· Previous magazine or digital experience necessary
· Some writing experience necessary
· Proven organizational and administrative skills
OTHER SPECIALIZED SKILLS
· Intermediate level Excel
· Intermediate level Word
· Experience with Outlook
· Desire to work for a growing organization and be a part of a dynamic team
EDUCATION
· Education in magazine publishing, journalism or marketing
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Some overtime is expected
