Video Content Specialist
Nova Scotians rely on government programs and services to support their health, education and economic well-being. Communications Nova Scotia (CNS) plays an important role in ensuring information about how to access and use these programs is accessible to everyone. We are seeking a Video Content Specialist to inspire and inform through creative video.
About Our Opportunity
As a Video Content Specialist with Communications Nova Scotia, you will have the opportunity to produce professional videos from start to finish including marketing, promotional, aerial, documentary and instructional videos, as well as multi-cam live webcasts, radio and television advertising and other audio-visual products for government.
You can expect to produce, direct, and project manage on and off-site shoots, as well as be responsible for cinematography, ENG/EFP camera, video editing and processing video for a variety of distribution platforms including digital and broadcast. This position manages individual projects, consults with clients/suppliers and works with a team to develop creative concepts and budgets. Working out of three digital video editing suites (currently AVID Media Composer or others as technology evolves), and an audio studio, you will provide advice to the Director regarding maintenance, repair and upgrades of video editing equipment and associated hardware and software as well as be accountable for on-site technical management for media coverage of special or emergency events.
You have a Diploma in Film and Television or another related program and six years’ experience, or an acceptable equivalent in training and experience. A strong understanding of the video production process and the roles involved will be essential.
Self-motivation and creativity are will be key in order to meet client needs, as well as strong ability to problem-solve and to adapt scheduling to ensure all project phases are completed with high quality and within frequently tight deadlines, which may include work outside regular business hours. You must also maintain a high degree of confidentiality and implement appropriately tight security measures when working with sensitive or confidential projects.
In addition to the above, you will also:
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge and skill in the operation of all equipment associated with the professional audio and visual production and distribution, particularly software and hardware associated with Media Composer, Adobe After Effects, ENG and digital cinematography, audio equipment, routing and switching equipment, wave form and vector scopes, computer graphics, lighting and grip equipment and UAV cinematography.
- Have experience integrating new processes and production techniques.
- Possess strong organizational skills and experience with digital media management.
- Exhibit excellent video editing skills.
Please note, this is a term position with an expected end date of January 2021.
Pay Grade: TE 24
Salary Range: $2,167.00 - $2,553.00 Bi-Weekly
